Post topics on the Farmers Market
-Post your list of questions that you developed to ask the FM staff and their responses. What answers did you find most interesting and why? Were there any questions you couldn’t find answers to and if so, why do you think they didn’t know this?
-Post a new list of questions that you plan on asking the FM staff this week. How did you reach these questions? What made you think of them?
-After having gone to the FM, what makes you interested in going back?
-What new experiences did you have at the FM? Did any of these experiences make you uncomfortable? Which new experiences did you most enjoy?

-Do animals have the right to a certain quality of life?
-Do people have the right to know what is in their food?
-In the film, food science professor Larry Johnson says, “If you go and look on the supermarket shelf, I’ll bet you 90 percent of [the products] would contain either a corn or a soybean product ingredient. And most of the time, it’ll contain both.” Why might it be a problem that the majority of our food is made mostly from just corn and soybeans—so that nearly everything we eat contains them?
-Many of us were surprised to learn that corn is so prevalent in our foods. Why do you think we were so surprised? Why don’t more people know this fact? Do you think the government and food producers have kept it a secret?
-Whose responsibility do you think it is to inform us about what is in our food? Is it our responsibility to find out, the producer’s responsibility to make it more clear, or both? Why do you think so?
-What can people do to be better informed about what is in the foods they eat?
-Explain Kevin’s story. Who is responsible for Kevin’s death? Why do you think so?
-Imagine you are charged with making sure a death like Kevin’s never happens again. What steps would they take to ensure it doesn’t?
-Write a personal response to the question of whether healthy eating should be a right, a responsibility, or a privilege?
-How do you think the way your grandparents used to eat differs from how you eat today?
